Conversation and Culture (Spain Abroad) - Summer 2022 I had the pleasure of taking this course with José-Luis Gastañaga as my instructor. This course began at UTC along with four weeks in Alcala, Spain. During this course, I learned about the culture, history, cuisine, and art. This course focused on several guided, group trips to some of the most famous places in Madrid, and was graded on written reflections from each placed visited with a final 8-page paper. Dr. Gastañaga has been to Spain several times before my trip so his insights on the places he took us was invaluable. I became friends with a few of other UTC students that we got to travel to other areas of Spain during our weekends and free time. I will forever cherish the things I learned, people I met and the experiences I had because of this course.
Looking at human brain in class
Principles of Neuropsychology - Fall 2023 I'm currently enrolled in this course taught by Amanda Clark. Dr. Clark has a clear passion for neuroscience and she makes this course fun and easy to engage. In the first few weeks of school, Dr. Clark brought in a human brain for students to examine and hold with their own brain while teaching us to do it with dignity and respect for the human who donated it. One of the coolest ways I get to learn in this class is through a Case Project. Trough this project I been giving the opportunity to conduct a neuropsychological evaluation, write a a neuropsychological report, and will present my report to my peers. I have worked through a clinical interview, four neuropsychological assessments on my partner and will be making a diagnosis and final report. I'm loving this course and how much I have already learned through Dr. Clark. I came into this course with no interest in neuropsychology but I can sincerely say now that I have enjoyed every lesson and participating in the Case Project.
